Is it cheaper to reupholster or buy a new sofa?
Reupholstering is usually cheaper than buying a sofa of the same build quality, because you keep the frame. It is not cheaper than a low-cost flat-pack sofa. If your frame is solid hardwood and the size suits your room, reupholstery normally gives better value. We tell you honestly when it doesn’t.

Do I need new foam when I reupholster?
Usually, yes. If the seats feel flat or you sink towards the frame, the foam has broken down, and new fabric over it will still feel tired. We check the foam during inspection. If it still springs back, we keep it and add a fresh polyester wrap to save you money.
Can you change a leather sofa to fabric?
Yes. We strip the leather, check the padding underneath, and fit a fabric cover cut to the same shape. Many Doha customers switch because leather feels hot in summer and can crack in dry, air-conditioned rooms. Going from fabric to leather or faux leather works on most frames too.
How many metres of fabric does a 3-seater sofa need?
A standard 3-seater with loose seat cushions needs roughly 12 to 15 metres of plain fabric. Patterned or striped fabric needs more, because the pattern must line up across seats and backs. Tight-back and armless designs need less. We measure your sofa before you buy fabric, so you don’t overpay.
